Title: Diner Site Suspension
Post by: Reverse Engineer on October 29, 2012, 06:23:27 pm
The Diner was suspended by the Powweb Engineers this morning for utilizing too much bandwidth on a shared server.  I openned a support ticket on Powweb and hope to have this resolved tonight.

At this point I don't know if this is because our regular traffic has increased that significantly or if we are under a DNS attack.  The site was running significantly slower for several days running here.

Check here or on the Facebook page for further Diner information until we get the problems with the main site resolved.

"Sorry for the inconvenience" as the Support Folks say.  ARRRGGGGHHHH!

Well, a thoroughly FRUSTRATING day in trying to get the Diner back up.  I need to buy more bandwidth which is not a problem but so far getting the site moved and back up with more bandwidth is not going too quickly or well.

Hopefully we get it back up tomorrow.

The thread that you posted on the DD Forum was like a slow motion trip to hell.

Long story short-- they can pull your jackeet whenever it suits them, but don't have to warn you or tell you why.

Glad you have stood this up in case something like this happens again.

Well, it's Wednesday AM, and I can't log into the forum or blog (via .org) at all.
Any ideas?

I am having no problems with the site.  From my end it seems to be working better than ever.  Perhaps clear your browser and cookies?

Was getting ready to respond to a post @ 2PM EST today, and the site seems to have **** the bed again.
Not loading. Any ideas?

According to our host, this time it is some problem on the backend of the server, whatever that means.  I was told it should be back up in 2 hours.  If not, I will be checking in with them again.  I'll drop Peter another email.

Well, it sounds like it's not another bandwidth issue, at least. Out of our hands. I'll mention something on the FB page.
